The website’s server didn’t answer. Not you.

Cloudflare tried to reach the website’s server and got no reply at all within its time limit. Overloads clear in minutes. A firewall or hosting problem lasts until the owner fixes it — often hours.

What to do about a 522

  1. Try again in a minutereload once, not twenty times.
  2. Check the site’s social accounts or status page.
  3. Tell the site owner.Copy the report below; the Ray ID tells them exactly which request failed.

Nothing on your side causes this. VPN, cookies and browser do not matter here.

522 — if you run this site

  1. The origin server is down or overloaded
  2. The origin firewall drops Cloudflare’s IP ranges (no reply, rather than a refusal)
  3. Wrong IP in the DNS record at Cloudflare
  4. Too few connections allowed at the origin (keep-alive off, small connection limits)

Allow Cloudflare’s IP ranges through the origin firewall and make sure the origin accepts connections on ports 80/443 from them; verify the DNS record points at the right server. Turn keep-alive on and check the server is not hitting its connection limits.
